HOW WE CAN HELP YOU

“We are continually helping people to get off the street, into accommodation and employment, supporting them to create a life where they can be self-sufficient. We also do all we can to prevent them ever getting to rock bottom where being on the street is the only option”

Raise the roof is a non profit community organisation who do their upmost to look after the homeless and prevent people from becoming homeless. We run “The Street Kitchen” located at 579 Spring Bank West, Hull, HU3 6LD.

We provide the following from Hull City Centre (currently outside Mecca Bingo):

  • Free breakfast for rough sleepers in the morning and free tea, coffee, advice, activities and support throughout the day – currently available outdoors only due to the Covid pandemic;
  • Indoor Soup kitchens on certain nights – – currently available outdoors only due to the Covid pandemic;
  • We’ve also been able to put rough sleepers up in hotels at Christmas time.

All donated funds will go towards making the above things a reality and enable us to keep them going.

You can’t just take someone from the street surrounded by people, put them in a room with just 4 walls and just expect them to get on with life. We believe the best way to raise a roof is by giving support and gaining trust to help people adjust to a new life when they move into a property.

Using this approach has enabled us to move over 100 people from the street and into accommodation in just 2 years.
